In this Meet the Community Builders I am delighted to chat to the fabulous Ed Giansante.

Ed heads up community at Persona, a US-based software company that supportts businesses with digital identity technologies and solutions.

We first met in person just as the world was coming out of lockdown after the Covid pandemic.

Ed is generous with his community experience and lessons learned. He has held senior community roles at Wix, Zynga, Dropbox and elsewhere, but also uses his community experience to connect to and gather others just like himself when relocating to new countries.

It is a must-watch for anyone interested in community building - especially if you are a strategic lead in a B2B technology organisation.

We discuss:

  • Ed’s career path to becoming a community leader

  • What community means to him - definitions of community

  • A summary of Persona’s community approach and how the team use community to provide value to their customers, partners and prospects

  • The Persona community techstack and how he has successfully built automations and incorporated AI into community

  • How he measures success in communities, including TROI and other measures that matter to the business

  • Tips for people who are new to community building

  • How to increase community engagement

  • Famous people Ed would love to have in his community

We also reminisce about meeting in person and how it was community that connected us in the first place.

Enjoy!
